Job Requirements:

BA level in Public Health or a related subject, or equivalent field experience.


  • Minimum 3 years of working experience, of which 2 years of working WASH related humanitarian programmes with special focus on Hygiene promotion issues.
  • Commitment to working through systems of community participation and accountability
  • Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation
  • Commitment to capacity building and developing others
  • Ability to write clear and well-argued assessment and project reports
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The capacity and willingness to be extremely flexible and accommodating in difficult and sometimes insecure working circumstances.
  • Commitment to the aims and principles of the organization. In particular, a good understanding of the the organization mandate and child focus and an ability to ensure this continues to underpin our support
  • Experience or knowledge of working and living in relevant regions/contexts
  • Humanitarian programming experience


  • Oral and written Language skills in English and Arabic /Kurdish

Job Description:

  • Implement hygiene 5 campaign activities in close collaboration with the engineer officer and under super vision Emergency Area Coordinator
  • Provide regular reports on hygiene issues and program progress against work plans and program activities.
  • Help in sensitizing beneficiaries about various aspects, requirements and information needed to ensure participation in the project’s activities.
  • Support the development of hygiene promotion materials, Mobilize Hygiene promotion messages among community members as well as participate in elaborating plans of awareness raising activities.
  • Ensure distribution of hygiene kits/ COVID 19 kits and document good practices.
  • Support in the development of Hygiene 5 campaign messages and establishing Community committees.
  • Work with other team members of the organization (WASH and non-WASH) working in the same communities, to ensure the integration and complementarity of the different sector of the intervention.
  • Implementation of KAP (Knowledge, Attitude and Practice) and initial and final PDM (Post Distribution Monitoring) for kits distributed)
  • Conduct training sessions for the community volunteers and/or targeted populations.
  • Conduct regular field visits to ensure good implementation of hygiene promotion awareness sessions held by staff or community volunteers.
  • Supervise and conduct validation of beneficiaries.
  • Ensure good archiving and documentation of Hygiene 5 Campaign activities.
  • Ensure good and accurate data collection and reporting against project monthly achievement and progresses.
  • As needed, conduct Focus Group Discussions, assessments and questionnaires to ensure community’s feedbacks.
  • Regular reporting to Emergency Area Coordinator.
  • Any other tasks assigned to him/her by the Emergency Area Coordinator.

Capacity Building:

  • Identify learning and training opportunities for the organization staff and partners and work as a mentor and role model for less experienced staff.

Representation & Advocacy & Organisational Learning

  • Ensure that the organization work is coordinated with efforts of other agencies and Government, and take a leadership role within Interagency Coordination forums, ensuring the specific needs of children are being addressed.
  • Advocate that the minimum standards of humanitarian relief are maintained in accordance with the Sphere Charter and Red Cross Code of Conduct.


  • Deliver results in line with the current proposals and the organization strategy
  • Comply with the organization policies and practice with respect to child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities, fraud and other relevant policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that the minimum standards of humanitarian relief are maintained in accordance with the Sphere Charter and Red Cross Code of Conduct.
  • Perform such other responsibilities as agreed with line management
