Job Purpose The Community Based on Protection Officer has the responsibility to adhere to the PSEAH Policy (Protection against Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment). Community Based on Protection Officer has the obligation to complete all mandatory trainings related to the Code of Conduct and the PSEA policy and report any safeguarding concern such as breaches of organisational policies or codes of conduct according to Acted’s procedures. Community Based on Protection Officer carries out work duties in a way that does not harm children, vulnerable adults or other staff or volunteers.
The Community Based on Protection Officer manages the provision of all community based on protection and the community mobilization activities undertaken by ACTED in the framework of its CCCM programming in the site of intervention. This includes: the development/implementation/follow-up of a Communication with Communities (CwC) scheme and the establishment/support to self-governance structures, identification and monitoring of protection issues, ensure effective referral pathways to relevant protection partners but also ensure protection mainstreaming for all actors intervening in the camp, including the other CCCM units (i.e. information management, site maintenance…). The CBP Officer will also be responsible to ensure that a protection perspective is integrated in the coordination meetings organized in the sites and in other stakeholders’ meetings. While completing the above-mentioned tasks, the Community Based on Protection Officer will be able to rely on CCCM assistants & workers / CCCM skilled data collectors.
If the need arises, management may ask the employee to support another camp or site (mobile) or another department from time to time
