The purpose of this position is to support the day-to-day water networks including operation, maintenance, and monitoring of water distribution systems. This role ensures the safe and efficient delivery of water to the community while adhering to regulatory standards and promoting sustainability The position-holder will be duty-stationed in the Serekaniye camps in Al Hasakah and will be expected to travel daily to other camps in Al Hasakah. Projects in this area are delivered through remotely managed ORGANIZATION staff.
- System Operation:
- Operate and monitor water distribution systems among the community/zones, including pumps, valves, and storage facilities at sector level, community level and HHs level as per operation plans.
- Collect the data of regular tests on water quality (FRC, TDS, and conductivity) upload daily water quality and quantity reports, including chlorine consumption and dosage, chlorine pump calibration and maintenance.
- Record pressure levels, and flow rates, ensuring they meet regulatory standards
- Operate and maintain solar and electric control panels and systems this includes daily inspection and reporting.
- Complete daily logs for fuel, oil consumption, stock, spare parts, and filters and conduct a monthly inventory.
- Perform monthly truck checks using ORGANIZATION templates and forms.
- Monitor water trucking during network outages or breakdowns.
- Maintenance:
- Perform routine inspections on water distribution infrastructure, including pipelines, hydrants, and valves.
- Identify, diagnose, and repair leaks, breaks, and other malfunctions in the water distribution system.
- Schedule and conduct preventive maintenance to minimize service interruptions
- Data Management:
- Collect data related to water quality and system performance, maintaining accurate records.
- Daily uploading of all Kobo forms and logbooks.
- Coordination and Reporting:
- Respond promptly to emergencies such as water main breaks, contamination events, and system failures.
- Coordinate with Line managers teams and other core competencies to address incidents effectively.
- Implement emergency response plans to ensure public safety and minimize service disruption

Qualifications/Experience:

- Minimum of Diploma, in a technical field (e.g., Water Network Design, Engineering, or related disciplines).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in water networks operation and maintenances including plumbing and electrical maintenance work related to water networks, and ability to effectively use relevant tools and maintenance equipment effectively.
- Experience in emergency response in camp settings.
- Fluency in Arabic both written & Verbal, and Basic knowledge of English (both written and verbal), with the ability to understand technical documentation and communicate effectively
- A good level of Kurdish language, both reading and verbal, is preferable
