Under the direct supervision and the support of the Protection Officer - and the overall guidance of the Protection Program Manager, The Social Worker is responsible for identifying protection related risks and needs of the community in the areas where organization is implementing its projects to ensure inclusion of vulnerable communities in all programs. The social worker will deliver awareness messages in the community sessions. The social workers will be directly involved in the day-to-day activities of the project, i.eparticipating in focus group discussions and communicating community concerns to relevant decision makers.
• Conduct Gender/GBV Safety Audits in the targeted area to assess and identify GBV risks by
• services/sectors
• Build positive relationships with the communities and promote the participation of the community in taking community needs, including the development of protection key messages.
• Conducting protection related awareness sessions in the targeted areas.
• Provide direct emotional and psychosocial support to women and girls, with a particular focus on survivors of GBV, through individual counseling and case management services
• Organize group psychosocial activities for women and girls.
• Participate in technical trainings and on-going technical skill support sessions on GBV, counseling skills, trauma, and case management.
• Conduct ongoing focus group discussions with adolescent girls to inform program activities.
• Document the process of identification, analysis, response, and evaluation using the tools provided By the Protection Officer.
• Ensure the intervention and support delivered are beneficial and evaluate the effectiveness of the o action taken.
• Assist the Protection Officer in mapping the existing services and capacities.
• Work with cultural sensitivity and always respect the dignity of displaced people and members of
the host communities.
• Ensure proper record-keeping of all activities and reporting tools and prepare weekly/monthly/quarterly activity reports on time.
• Periodically collect data and regularly update individual files of the programmer beneficiaries, as well as attendance sheets and progress towards targets.
• Keep proper records of expenditures and report on these to the line manager.
• Conduct regular meetings with communities to jointly identify adolescents needs and develop adequate solutions jointly.
• Participate in weekly meetings with the project team and other ad hoc meetings as requested.
• Assist and promote the creation of a referral system when required, where each community member can find support and response to his/her own needs.
• Identify & Propose gender-related topics for the eventual trainings lead by the project team.
• Ensure understanding of and compliance to PSEA and Child Safeguarding policies and reporting mechanisms.
• Ensure affected populations are fully aware about PSEA and CS policies and know how to report in a safe and confidential way
• Bachelor or Diploma Degree in Sociology or any relevant field
• Proven experience in social work or another relevant field
• Minimum 1-year experience working with an INGO.
• Minimum 1-years work social worker / case management.
• Minimum two-years previous experience in protection Awareness raising /GBV/CP/MHPSS programs.
• Degree in Sociology or any relevant field; proven experience in social work
